The position is located in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC/OUSG). The incumbent reports to the Director of the Office.
工作內(nèi)容
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
?Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, etc.; monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
?Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
?Assists in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.
?Undertakes survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
?Prepares various written outputs, e.g. talking points, briefing notes, draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
?Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., including the proposal of agenda topics, identifying participants, preparing documents, notes and presentations, coordinating logistics, etc.
?Serves as focal point for assigned portfolios in the Department of Management Strategy, policy and Compliance, liaises with DMSPC Offices, as well as with colleagues from other entities, to ensure that priorities from the Under-Secretary-General are conveyed and that the USG is provided with all necessary information related to DMSPC mandates; reviews Secretary-General's reports and correspondence, briefing notes and reference materials for senior officials.
?Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
?Performs other duties as required.

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience in the advanced use of Microsoft Excel is required. Experience in the preparation of a variety of written outputs such as briefing notes, talking points, reports, work plans, responses to question from governing and oversight bodies, etc., is required.
Experience in the coordination of activities related to budget and funding and the preparation of related documents (progress reports, financial, statements, work programme and programme budget) is desirable. Experience in senior office assignments in international organizations, including a Front Office setting, is desirable. Experience in dealing with policies, regulations and rules within the UN common system or other intergovernmental organizations is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this position advertised fluency in English is required. . Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
