Appointment against this post is for an initial period of one year and may be subject to extension. The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, conference and information services (www.unon.org). This post is located in the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Talent Management Center (TMC).

The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Chief, Staff training and Developpment unit, HRMS/UNON. Duties will include:
1. Design, develop, implement and evaluate learning: a) Contribute to the implementation of all aspects of training specific to UNEP, UNON, UN-Habitat and UN Kenya b) Recommend to the Chief content and format and delivery mode of training packages to be used c) Participate in and contribute to training needs analysis and surveys to determine appropriate learning and development strategies/solutions d) Make recommendations on in-house staff and consultants to be used as facilitators/trainers in those parts of the programme falling under purview of this post and evaluating their performance e) Facilitate assigned training programmes, conducting retreats and workshops, including Train the Trainer programme and use assessment instruments f) Assist the Chief in planning and coordinating the annual training calendar g) Assist in providing administrative and substantive support required for the delivery of training workshops, observe these workshops, compile course evaluations, summarize findings, and based on participants evaluation and observations, recommend changes to the programme h) Provide relevant background materials and statistics on training activities for inclusion in reports i) Contribute to the planning, design, production review and dissemination of relevant training handbooks and audiovisual materials, and promote online learning and other alternative methods for the delivery of learning j) Schedule training programs and supervise maintenance of database of staff participation and k) Assign, coordinate and review the work of Training Assistant(s) 2. Manage the internship programme: 3. Manage the Career and Learning Resource Centre: a) Promote the use of and services available at the Career and Learning Resource Center

The Staff Development Officer will also provide back-up on occasions when Chief, Staff Development and Training Unit is unavailable.

專業(yè)要求

Advanced university degree in organisational development, education, organisational psychology, Human Resources with training/learning emphasis or other relevant Social Sciences, or a first university degree with a relevant combination of academic and professional qualifications. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

工作經(jīng)驗

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience at the international level, with emphasis on experience in a learning and development function. Experience in using collaboration technology and tools to support delivery of training, and designing, developing and delivering online training programmes is an asset. Experience in managing language training is desirable.

語言要求

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French is desirable.
